DEATH NOTICE
RADFORD, George
Passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the age of 96.
He is survived by his wife Pauline Radford nee Dubois and five children: Richard (Suzanne), Françoise (Tim Ferguson), Carmen (Jean-Luc Poulin), Normand, Brian (Janice); 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, many nephews, nieces and friends.
George worked at the CIP pulp and paper mill in Hawkesbury until its closure in 1982. He served as President of the plant local of the pulp and paper workers’ union and also served two terms as a Town Councilor in Hawkesbury. He enjoyed living his boyhood on the Ottawa river, playing hockey with his children either on the river or on a table top game and watching sports on TV.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on April 25, 2020, in the Chapel at Berthiaume Family Funeral Home, 416 McGill Street, Hawkesbury, Ontario, Saturday, April 25, 2020, followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to: the Heart and Stroke Foundation Ontario, CP 460 Succ L, Toronto, Ontario, M4P 9Z9 and/or, Hawkesbury General Hospital Foundation 1111, Ghislain, Hawkesbury, Ontario, K6A 3G5 or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
