DEATH NOTICE

It is with great sadness to announce that Victor Chortyk peacefully passed away on the 11th of May, 2020 at 8:45 PM at the Hawkesbury General Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Vic was born in Montreal on the 14th of July, 1942 to the late Jennifer Semerez and the late Stanley Chortyk. He is survived by his very loving family; Stephanie (Sister), Earlene (Wife), Natasha (Daughter), James Murray (Husband of Natasha), Kashton & Jackson (Grand Children/Sons of Natasha & James) & Gavin (Son). Victor would help anyone in need. Tough on the outside, very kind on the inside, he was a loving & compassionate man. The "Ace" - as his close friends would call him, was tenacious & this was ever-present throughout life until his very last breath. Furthermore, he was blessed to have great people in his life that were always in his corner. Specifically: Stanley Vincelli, James Hindley, John Rae, Brian Jones, Nereo & Violet Valentini, Jacques St-Denis, Chuck Kastner, Mark Kaneb, Peter Fornady & last but certainly not least, Mike & Julie Poirier. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, a celebration of Vic's life will take place at a later date. In the end, the Chortyk family wishes to express our sincere appreciation to the entire staff of the Hawkesbury General Hospital. The level of care was exceptional. Earlene, Natasha & Gavin are extremely grateful to the staff for the support throughout these difficult times. In lieu of flowers, please send a small donation to the Hawkesbury General Hospital Foundation in honour of the nurses & caregivers located on the C2 Unit CCC (Complex Continuing Care), 1111, Ghislain, Hawkesbury, Ontario, K6A 3G5. website: https://hgh.ca/foundation/donate/.
Funeral details were entrusted to Berthiaume Family Funeral Home 416, McGill, Hawkesbury, Ontario K6A1R2. Condolences may be conveyed by fax at (613) 632-1065 or visit our Web Site www.salonfuneraireberthiaume.com
