DEATH NOTICE
It is with much sadness the family announces the passing of Marion Andrews Christie (nee Laundry). Marion passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on October 8, 2022 at the age of 93.
Born on August 28, 1929 in Bancroft, Ontario, Marion was the daughter of Edna and Emerson Laundry and the eldest of her siblings (the late) Hugh Laundry, Carol McDermott, Dean Laundry, and Fern Beyerly. Beloved wife of 43 years to her late husband Dave. Predeceased by their infant son John. She is survived by her children Jim Christie, Andrew Christie (Philippa Cureton), and Janet Christie (Steve Wells). She is also survived by her 3 cherished grandsons, Jake Wells (Sarah Ireland), Simon Christie (Abby Lee) and Alex Christie.
Marion’s kindness, honesty, patience and love of family will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank the many PSWs, the Prescott Russell Community Services and the Alzheimer Society Day program workers and drivers who helped care for Marion at home, her many dear friends of Hawkesbury United Church, Cassburn United Church and at other churches in the Genesis Cooperative who were so kind to her as her dementia progressed in recent years, and all the staff at the Champlain Long Term Care Home and at the Hawkesbury General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
Funeral details were entrusted to Berthiaume Family Funeral Home, 416, McGill St, Hawkesbury, Ontario 1-877-632-8511.

Dear Jim, Andy and Janet, May the Lord comfort you since the passing of your mother. She was kind and nice to everyone. One of my neighbors from home called to offer condolences because she and friend remember her as a kind loving person. She was important in my life because she wanted me to read the Bible so sent me Scripture Union when I was ten. It guided me all my life. I am so grateful to her for kindness. Fern

Dear Jim, Andrew and Janet; Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Our thoughts are with you and all your family. May the fond memories you share with each other help comfort you as you navigate this difficult time. We are very saddened to read of the loss of your mother, my cousin, Marion. She was a kind, wise, cheerful lady, much loved by family and friends. I remember often hearing my dad say how much he liked Marion, and indeed all the Laundry clan. I believe you, Jim, and your mom popped in prior to his funeral to bring me a thoughtful bouquet of personal flowers, knowing how emotional I was at losing him, the first of our parents, and also because she too thought highly of her Uncle Francis. Should we not make it to the funeral service tomorrow, please know that you will certainly be in our thoughts and prayers. Love to All, Pam & Dave Lorimer & family
