DEATH NOTICE
Marie Jacqueline Hughes (née Gascon) passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024, at the age of 99.
She was the beloved wife of the late J. Andrew Hughes, with whom she shared life for 41 years, and the daughter of the late Edmond Gascon and the late Leonie H (Carrière).
She is survived by her beloved children Patrick (Lucy), Maureen (George), Gerry (Joe), Raymond (Lise), Christine (Paul), Gail, and predeceased by her youngest son, Lynn.
She was the cherished grandmother of Nancy (Michel), Michael, Isabelle (Maxime), Amélie (Loïc), Sarah, James (Lauren), Stephanie (John) and Sean (Olesya), and she was the great-grandmother of Justin, Coralie, Arielle, Ella, Nina, Sophie, and Emily.
She was also predeceased by five brothers: Roméo (the late Cécile) Philippe (the late Laurette), Doris (the late Jeanette), Donatien (the late Doris), and Gabriel (Carmelle), and two sisters: Edmonne (the late Robert Labonté) and Jeannine (the late Constant Perreault). She leaves behind cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
The family wants to thank the personnel of Résidence Prescott Russell for their excellent care and devotion.
Family and friends are invited to the Berthiaume Family Funeral Home, 416 McGill Street, Hawkesbury, Ontario (877-632-8511), Thursday September 12th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
A celebration will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12 p.m.
For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations to Prescott Russell Residence Foundation, Lift me Up Campaign, 1020, Cartier Boulevard, Hawkesbury, Ontario K6A 1W7 would be appreciated.
The funeral home will make a donation in memory of your loved one to the food bank.
