DEATH NOTICE
It is with great sadness that we must announce our dear mother, Roberta Marion Histed (née Young) passed from this Earth with peace, dignity, and surrounded by love, on 24 April 2025, ten days after celebrating her 93rd birthday. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, John Allan (Jack) Histed, and leaves to mourn her three daughters: Brenda (Errol) Adams, Barbara Mainville, and Patricia Histed; her three granddaughters: Diana Adams; Sylvia Adams; Chantal Adams; and three great-grandchildren: Tyler, Bentley, and Kaizen. She will be dearly missed by her sister, Janet Patterson, her sister-in-law, Lilliane Young, and her numerous nieces and nephews.
A message from Roberta:
If you are reading this, it is because I have moved on to the next step. It is something we all must do, and I am not afraid of it. I am looking forward to being reunited with Jack. We were such a good team in this life. There are so many people I want to thank, starting with my family (immediate and extended). It’s been such a pleasure to have had my three lovely daughters, and my wonderful friends, including the amazing people I worked with during my educational career, and my colleagues at the Macdonnell-Williamson House. Also thank you to the staff at HGH for their wonderful kindness and care. It's time for me to go home.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Berthiaume Family Funeral Home 416 McGill, Hawkesbury, Ontario (877) 632-8511.
A celebration will be held in the privacy of the family.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to either the Macdonnell-Williamson House 25 Rue Des Outaouais, Chute-à-Blondeau, ON K0B 1B0 or the Hawkesbury General Hospital Foundation, 1111, Ghislain St Hawkesbury, Ontario K6A 3G5 would be appreciated.
The funeral home will make a donation in memory of your loved one to the Food Bank.

To Brenda, Barbara and Patricia and to your families, to her sister , her sister-in-law and all of her numerous friends, we would like to express our most sincere condolences. Roberta was like a ray of sunshine, always so cordial and always asking about your health and were you were now in your life. I had the pleasure of doing an interview and also some quilt stitching at the McDonnell House where I could buy her super yummy jams and jellies. She was a great advocate for children's education and left her legacy for the new teachers. May the skies be ready for this great spirit and may all the beautiful memories created with her bring you serenity and courage.

Lors de mon mandat de député, j'ai eu le plaisir d'échanger avec elle à nombre de reprises sur des sujets qui lui tenaient à coeur, dont surtout le grand dossier de l'éducation.
