Dear Grandmother Willems, What an amazing woman! Patient, kind, generous, intelligent, witty and always a smile. Ever the gracious hostess, whether it was just a little visit, a Sunday lunch, or the annual Christmas day event where you hosted ALL of us WILLEMS’; my 14 aunts and uncles (+ my Dad), their spouses, and ALL of us kids: SO many cousins! We children would be in the basement huddled under the tables bent with food, hiding from each other, trading jokes and hoping to not get wrangled into dish duty! It was standing room only (mostly) for the adults. So many of our large Willems family stuffed into your home, peals of laughter ringing and all the windows open. Thank you for being my grandmother for all my 50 years; I am grateful we were able to have a few more visits together in April; your eyes were bright and your smile still easy. Reposez-vous, maintenant chere GrandMaman – vous l’avez bien mérité. xo
Kimberley Murray (nee Willems)
