DEATH NOTICE
Mr. Claude Luys, of Hawkesbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the age of 80.
He was the beloved father of Martin (Marie-Ève) and Dominic (Erin),
the adored grandfather of Heinrick and Sara-Jeanne,
and the cherished great-grandfather of Louis-Charles and Elianne.
He was also the dear brother of Fernande, Marriette, Jacques (Josianne), Yvon (Thérèse), and Ginette (Harry).
He is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, and many friends.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jocelyne Luys (née Perreault), his parents Jean-Maurice Luys and Yvette Fréchette, and his sister Madeleine.
The family invites relatives and friends to gather at the Berthiaume Family Funeral Home, located at 416 McGill Street in Hawkesbury, Ontario, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to celebrate Claude's life in the way he would have wanted: simply and warmly.
Claude has gone to join his Jojo. He leaves behind fond memories of his winters spent under the sun of HIS beloved Florida. Known as a true 'bon vivant', Claude was an active and passionate man. A great lover of country music, he will leave a huge void in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
For those who wish to do so, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 55 St. Clair Avenue West, Suite 500, Toronto, Ontario, M4V 2Y7, would be greatly appreciated.
