DEATH NOTICE
It is with deep sadness that the family regrets to announce the passing of Mrs. Karin Tessier (née Lederer) of Hawkesbury, on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026, at the age of 79.
She was the loving wife of Richard Tessier, and their family and friends noted that they were rarely apart.
She was the daughter of the late Friedrich Wilhelm Lederer and the late Gunvor Lederer (née Fjelldal);
the beloved and loving mother of Arne and Nicole (Dave),
and the dear sister of Sonja and Harry (Jolanta).
She was predeceased by her two brothers: Helmut and Günther.
She is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, bingo friends, and an uncle.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Hawkesbury General Hospital and the staff at The Ottawa Hospital for their kindness, compassion, and excellent care.
Karin was passionate about cooking and traveling to visit her family abroad. She found peace in the company of her cats Olli and Rudi, as well as the wild birds among the beauty of the flowers and nature that surrounded her. She loved to play and especially win at bingo. Her smile and loving personality will be greatly missed by those who had the good fortune to know her. The love she shared with others will live on after her, in the hearts of her husband, children, family, and bingo friends.
The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Berthiaume Family Funeral Home, 416 McGill Street, Hawkesbury, Ontario, 613-632-8511.
A celebration of life will be held in the intimacy of the family.
For those who wish, donations to the Hawkesbury General Hospital Foundation, 1111 Ghislain Street, Hawkesbury, Ontario, K6A 3G5, the Canadian Cancer Society, 55 St. Clair Avenue West, Suite 500, Toronto, Ontario, M4V 2Y7, and/or the Ottawa Hospital Foundation, 737 Parkdale Ave would be appreciated.
