DEATH NOTICE
Rita Ranger (née Lévesque) of Hawkesbury (born in Saint-Simon-de-Rimouski) passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the age of 96.
Rita was a cheerful, welcoming woman and an extraordinary mother to her seven daughters. She was a loving grandmother to her nine grandchildren and great-grandmother to six little ones. She remains an example of courage, an eternal source of support, compassion, and wisdom. The unconditional love she devoted to her family throughout her life is her most beautiful legacy; it continues to shine within each of us today.
She was the devoted wife of the late Constant Ranger;
the beloved mother of Danielle (Marcel), Constance (the late Joseph), Johanne (Guy), Nicole, Sylvie (Steve), Chantal (Martin), and Nathalie (Mark);
the adored grandmother of the late Sébastien, Mikhaila, Meghan, Christopher, the late Malcom, Stephanie, Emanuelle, Mackenzie, and Jacob, as well as the great-grandmother of several great-grandchildren;
the dear sister of Monique.
She was predeceased by her parents: Désiré Lévesque and Eugénie D'Amours; her brothers: Victor, Léonard, Germain, Benoît, and Georges; and her sister Jeannette.
She is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Prescott-Russell Residence, the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue CLSC, and Hawkesbury General Hospital for the excellent care provided.
