DEATH NOTICE
Mr. Claude Guy Lalonde, of Hawkesbury, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on June 21, 2026, at the age of 106, just a few days before his 107th birthday.
He was the devoted husband of the late Florence (née Lapensée) Lalonde.
He is survived by his beloved children, Lorraine and Jean-Guy (Constance), as well as his dear grandchildren Manon (Stéphane), France (Sylvain), Annie (Geoff), Paul, Jason (Paula), and Vincent. He also leaves behind an exceptional family legacy consisting of 12 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren, who will proudly carry on his memory.
He was the son of the late Oscar Lalonde and the late Emilia Lauzon.
He was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters.
He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and friends who will cherish precious memories of him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Prescott-Russell Residence for their empathy, kindness, and the excellent care provided over the years.
Claude was very proud of his service during World War II. The many medals he wore with pride on his jacket were a testament to his dedication and courage. A proud member of the Hawkesbury Legion, he was actively involved in his community for many years. All who had the privilege of knowing him will remember his humility, his generosity, and the fascinating stories he loved to tell.
The family invites family and friends to Berthiaume Funeral Home, 416 McGill, Hawkesbury, Ontario, on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., as well as to Saint-Pierre-Apôtre Parish in Hawkesbury on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m.
The funeral service will follow in the church at 11:00 a.m.
For those who wish to make a donation, contributions to the Prescott-Russell Residence Foundation, 1020 Cartier Blvd., Hawkesbury, Ontario, K6A 1W7, and/or to the Canadian Legion (https://www.legion.ca/donations), would be appreciated.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the loss of your loved one. I had the utmost respect for Mr. Lalonde. I enjoyed his company at all the Legion events. He was a true gentleman, and I never heard him say a bad word about anybody. He will be truly missed by loved ones and everyone who had the pleasure of calling him a friend.

Hi oui, oncle Claude vous êtes parti rejoindre vos parents et vos nombreux frères et sœurs! Lorsqu’il fut parti durant 5 ans pendant la 2ème guerre mondiale; ma mère Germaine Nadeau lui envoyait 1 lettre par mois et ma grand-mère Lalonde a été à la messe tout les jours pour qu’il revienne! J'ai connu M. Lalonde plusieurs années passées, mais j'ai renoué avec depuis que je suis à la Résidence P & R. Je mangeais trois fois par jours à la même table avec lui. Un gentleman qui était très apprécié des résidents et des employés. Je garde un beau souvenir de CLAUDE. Repose en paix mon ami.
