DEATH NOTICE
Madeleine Lanthier of Hawkesbury passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the age of 89.
She was the loving wife of the late Claude Lanthier;
the daughter of the late Hector Groulx and the late Dorence Myre;
the beloved mother of Manon (Gaëtan Bourgeoys), Luc (Carol), André (Brigitte), Ginette (Michel Lalonde), Linda (Peter Pirone), and Nathalie (Guy Ranger);
the adored grandmother of Marius (Tania), Sophie (Thierry), Jérémie (Josiane), Yannick, Aurélie, Elise, Marie-Anne (Dominic), Karine (Vincent), Mélissa (Pascal), Maxime, Cassandra (Bruce), and Tina (Yan); the great-grandmother of Xavier, Juliette, Sarah, Noémie, Thomas, Anaïs, Annabel, Emma, Emery, Mélia, Rosalie, Zachary, Henri, Eve, Florence, Olivier, Alexim, Loïc, Maëlie, Lori, Jaxon, and Tyson; and the grest-great-grandmother of Zack;
the beloved sister of Claudette (George Chamaillard) and Suzanne (Gilles Sauvé).
She was predeceased by her son Guy and her brothers: Maurice (the late Rita), Louis (Lise Warren), Jean, Yvon (Monique Groulx), and Gaston.
She is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hawkesbury General Hospital for the excellent care provided.
Madeleine will be remembered as a beautiful, generous, and loving person who was deeply committed to caring for her large family. She loved to spoil her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, especially with her cooking skills.
Her famous banana cakes and homemade donuts will remain among the sweet memories that remind us of her and keep her presence alive in our hearts.
Madeleine, your love, your generosity, and all the wonderful moments we shared will remain etched in our memories.
You will remain in our hearts forever.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Berthiaume Family Funeral Home, 416 McGill, Hawkesbury, Ontario (877) 632-8511.
The funeral service will be held at Saint-Pierre-Apôtre Parish in Hawkesbury on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The family will be present starting at 10:30 a.m. to receive your condolences.
