Défunt(e) : Donald Barrett Mutton jeudi 7 février 2019

La famille de Donald Barrett Mutton désire vous remercier pour votre témoignage de sympathie.

It is a sad, sad day today. The world has lost a beautiful soul. I am thankful that I was blessed with knowing Don. I loved him, and I know he loved me back. I will miss him. I will miss his kindness and goodness. I take solace in knowing he has taken is place in heaven and is reunited with his beloved Helen, his mother and his father and of course his faithful dog Nelson. I deeply grieve his loss but am ever thankful for the time we spent together. - From Dylan Thomas - A poem I've heard Don recite: "Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light." Don lead a full life, was loved by all, and has now found his peace. God bless you Don.
Gerry Wayland

What a fine, fine, fine man. We should all strive to be like him in every way...thought, word and certainly deed. He made a difference in my life...his name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. He is dancing with Auntie Helen at this very moment!!! And, perhaps playing a game of bridge with my Mum and Dad who were very close freinds of both of them. I love you, Uncle Don, and will see you again one day!! Love, Joan Henderson

Oh what a legacy! Mr. Mutton is what every human being should strive to be... Loving and caring, forgiving and understanding, interested and interesting... The man had it all. May God bless you, Judy and family, as you go on without his physical presence. I have no doubt he will always be a soft voice in your soul and a huge piece of your heart... xoxo
Yvette and Ken Gray

To Jude, John and to all the extended family, I offer you my sincere condolences on the loss of your dad, granddad and uncle. Don was on my mind a lot since my conversation with you, John, and I regret not visiting with Don. I really enjoyed my time with Don, he was always so interesting, so intelligent and had such a zest for life. He lived a full and wonderful life and has now reunited with his beloved wife, Helen. I am so sad that he will not be among us any longer but he is now free to be with his loved ones forever.
Lynda Poyser

Don was truly a remarkable man! Such a lovely tribute that really captured his true essence. I never knew his middle name was him mom's maiden name....such a cool name Barrett! I will always remember Don as being so active outdoors, his amazing photography skills at family get togethers in Toronto, his love of his grandkids and how he was able to choose such special gifts for each of them every Christmas.....and of course his world famous lemon squares (that were better than my mom's!) Thinking of John and Jude and their respective families during this sad time.
Anne Secord

You have left us Don, but you gave everyone such joy and peace. I truly enjoyed our visits when you came to visit Jude and of course Mickey. You had a kind and generous soul and enjoyed your excursions to meet with friends, attend the theatre with Jude and visit with John and his family. I felt a connection from the moment me met as you were so easy to talk to. We will miss you but I believe you are still here is spirit and your legacy is how you enjoyed people you met and have left us all with great memories.
Judith Steane

Our sympathies to his family. Mr. Mutton was my parents' cherished neighbor for a long time. He always brought all of us his famous delicious lemons bars. He was a kind soul and will be sadly missed. R.I.P. Mr. Mutton

My condolences to the family, Mr Mutton was a colleague volunteer at Résidence Prescott Russell, a warm, gentle, giving person. I also knew him because his wife was in the bedroom in front of my mother’s room on the second floor at Résidence Prescott Russell. He was alsways smiling, a happy person always available for a chat. He will be missed.

It was a privilege to work with Don for over 30 years at the Research as his secretary and to remain friends with him in his retirement years. It was a great pleasure to be able to participate in one of his special projects, the reunion of the Research gatherings that took place every 5 years, and the more intimate bi-monthly lunches. I will miss his calls reminding me it's time to call your list. He was a very courageous and dedicated person especially when it came to his family and his beloved Helen. My sympathy to Jude and John and your families. I know you are thankful you could be with him in his last struggle and surround him with your love as he left this earthly toil. May he rest in pace.
Barbara Woods

What a shock to learn of Don’s passing. He was a beautiful person in every sense of the word. Don, I will miss your annual Christmas letter with updates on your family , so dearly loved. You were so proud of each and everyone of them. You join now your very loving wife, Helen. God bless, dear friend, till we meet again.
Marion Bethune

Don will be missed and remembered by more people than could have imagined. Over our 85 years that we shared, he was always the most admired of all of our mutual friends. The most thoughful. And his love of Helen set a standard year after year and especially his devotion after her stroke. I introduced them! Think of all the adjectives that apply: brilliant, kind, loyal, thoughful, curious, well rounded, fun, admired. Loved all sports. Books. Concerts. I am so grateful to have had his friendship over the years.
Bettie Bradley

The world has lost a bright light but for those who knew him personally this light caries on in are soul. My deepest symphathy to the Mutton family. Thinking of you, Louise Portelance

Offering my most sincere condolences to the friends and family of Don Mutton. I was so very fortunate to have known Don as the Research Director at my first job. Later as a friend and occasional badminton partner. He epitomized the best attributes of both a leader and friend. He set a high standard, but always with grace and humility. He will be greatly missed.
Roland Trepanier

To Judy, john and extended family I offer sincere sympathy. I have know this kind gentleman, Donald Mutton, since 1956 -- I worked for him at the ICR for four years. We, my husband and I, have stayed in touch often ever since. Donald even attended, in 2018, the 60th year celebration of our marriage. Glad he got home, as was his wish. Please advise us about the spring celebration of a life well lived. Elaine and Donald Fuller

Please accept my most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. My thoughts are with you Jude, John and your families during this difficult time. I got to know your Dad when my Dad Bill Mullin was in the Prescott Nursing Home. He would stop and chat with us on his way to see your Mom. He was so kind and devoted to your her. I had a short visit with him when he was in the hospital a few weeks ago. Jude he was happy to tell me you were on your way down to stay a while. He was a gentle loving person. God bless.
Marlyn Charbonneau

Dear Judy,John, and family It is with sadness in our hearts that we learned of the passing of Don. Don was a lovely, kind man who was always interested in sharing news about your family and hearing about ours. Don and Helen were lifelong friends of our parents and while they shared many outings, happy times and trips together, we too have many fond memories of times spent with you and your parents. Your parents were like family. After the passing of our father, Don continued to be a kind, supporting friend to our Mother which we truly appreciated. We hope that with time, your wonderful memories of him while help to ease your sorrow. Our sincere sympathies. Joan Siversky (Rene), Sherill Roberts (Howard) and family.

Recevez mes très sincères condoléances et l’expression de ma plus profonde sympathie.
Elaine& Stephane Quann

I had the distinct privilege of knowing Don for 43 years. During that time, he served me as a mentor (improving everything I ever wrote or published) a boss and, most importantly as a dear friend. Don and I likely played hundreds of enjoyable rounds of golf together, mostly at the Hawkesbury club but perhaps at thirty or more clubs elsewhere. One of our favourite experiences was the year we won the “twilight” competition. We also attended three different LPGA events at the Hunt Club, Summerlea and Hillsdale. If I had to select one word to best describe Don, it would be integrity. Don was the definition of the word in every aspect of his life. Anyone who got to know Don was better off as a result. The world needs more people like Don and he will be sadly missed and very long remembered by so many. Ron Dines

Dear John & Judy, Please accept our heartfelt condolences. Thinking about your Dad reminds me of many of the good things about growing up in our neibourhood and Hawkesbury. A good man and a good life,

It is with deep sadness that I learned of Don's passing. He was a gentleman who shared his joy of life with many, as he shared his lemon squares with everyone. Deepest sympathy to the family, he will be missed by many. Isabel Clark

I met Don at thé Hawkesbury Golf Course and also new him as a neighbour and volonteer. Hé was a Kind, gentle and generous man of his Time.
Serge Sauvé

At sad times like these, mere words seems so inadequate but they are all I have to let you know what a great man I thought Don was. I met him through CPPA and, from the start, it impressed me what a true “gentleman” he was! It’s been an honor to have known him. He will be missed and remembered. Please accept my condolences for your loss.
